Katie Kasinskas is a commercial finance attorney whose practice includes lending transactions, loan restructurings and the purchase and sale of existing loans. She represents national banks, regional banks, insurance companies, private lenders and corporate borrowers in a range of secured and unsecured commercial financing transactions, including:
- Senior credit facilities (including single bank, syndicated and participated loans);
- Revolving loans, term loans and letter of credit facilities;
- Asset-based lending;
- Financings secured by real estate;
- Acquisition and project financings;
- Mezzanine financing;
- Intercreditor and subordination agreements;
- Modifications, workouts and forbearances;
- Out-of-court asset realizations.
Katie advises clients on the structuring, negotiation and closing of these transactions and must often navigate through and resolve complex issues that arise during the due diligence, documentation and perfection process. For more than 10 years, she has represented lenders and borrowers in financings across numerous industries and markets, including manufacturing, retail, real estate, health care, clean energy and fine art.
Katie also advises lenders and borrowers in loan workouts, and guides clients through post-default restructuring of distressed debt and the exercise of out-of-court remedies. In doing so, she drafts and negotiates modifications, forbearance agreements and secured party sale agreements for the disposition of assets under the Uniform Commercial Code.
In addition, Katie represents sellers and purchasers in the sale and acquisition of existing loans. Katie has represented clients in loan sales that range from a single loan to large portfolios of Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs) or commercial loans secured by personal property and real estate.
